FOSSIL OIL & Gas Management, L.L.C.


(“Fossil Oil”) was incorporated (Charter # 0800972752) under the Texas Business Corporation Act. It is an independent oil and gas exploration company whose management has more than 100 years experience and a proven record of success in the onshore Gulf Coast trends along the Texas and Louisiana, including South Texas (Valley), and the Mid-Continent oil areas of Kansas and Oklahoma in this industry.

Fossil Oil has an experienced team of management and geological consultants including its participation with other highly successful industry partners specializing in the drilling of direct hydrocarbon indicators the pre-drilling identification of oil and natural gas utilizing the latest 3D seismic data to generate high quality drilling prospects for Fossil Oil.

For the past several years, Fossil Oil, its management and its affiliate participants have been successfully drilling in Louisiana and along the Texas Gulf Coast.  Management has also directed its drilling activities in the well known Cooley Field in Fort Bend County, Texas. Fossil has drilled and completed four 13,000’ Wilcox gas and condensate wells.  Fossil Oil and its participants have drilled a total of twenty-six (26) oil and gas wells in the past three (3) years in Texas and Louisiana (see the Past Well History - Photo Gallery link).  As mentioned above, Fossil Oil utilizes exclusively 3-D seismic technology along with other computer-aided exploration techniques, directional drilling and other skills in search of new reserves of natural gas and crude oil. Generating, structuring, and funding close-in development drilling oil and gas prospects continues to be the dominate Exploitation and Production activity of Fossil Oil.

Dennis R. Kittler
President and Founder


Mr. Kittler is the founder and President of Fossil Oil & Gas Management, L.L.C. (“Fossil”). His responsibilities are to manage Fossil’s entire corporate functions including Administration, Financial, Marketing, and all functions involving the generation of high quality drilling prospects for industry participation. He is an active member in the Houston Geological Society (HGS # 10102), Houston Producers’ Forum (HPF), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG # 77661-1), Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association (TIPRO), Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA), the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL # 37635), Texas Alliance of Energy Producers (TAEP #12254), and a charter member of the Houston Wildcatters Association.

Mr. Kittler earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in finance (Coe College - Iowa) in 1965 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing Management in 1967 (St. Cloud State University - Minnesota). His business career for the past three decades has been with several nationally recognized corporations where he held executive level positions from sales manager to President and CEO in a variety of industries from computers/ office products (IBM), advertising (Ampex Stereo Tapes and Ampex Music Division), international imports (ACC Distributing), Professional Sports (Miami Dolphins-NFL / World Team Tennis) and oil and gas exploration and production (ACC Exploration Co., Jurassic Energy Corp. and Fossil Oil & Gas Management, L.L.C.).

After active duty and serving in the U.S. Army (National Guard), Kittler joined IBM in Chicago where he was recognized for a successful sales and sales management career in IBM’s Office Product Division. Kittler resigned to take over the marketing / advertising executive position in NYC with Ampex Stereo Tapes / Ampex Music Division followed by an exciting marketing and promotional career in Florida with both the NFL Miami Dolphins and World Team Tennis League.

In 1975, the Arab Oil Embargo had opened up new and challenging opportunities in marketing oil and gas drilling programs (tax shelters) in the investment industry resulting in a major career change for Kittler with an exploration company specializing in the funding of oil and gas investments, limited partnerships and direct participation drilling and completion programs.

drk at rigAs a partner in charge of the Rocky Mountain region for ENI Exploration Company, Kittler was a partner in a firm that structured, sponsored and marketed more than fifty (50) diversified oil and gas drilling programs involving dozens of industry partners and hundreds of oil and natural gas wells throughout the United States and Canada. In 1979, Mr. Kittler resigned from ENI to become the President and CEO of a Houston based independent exploration and production company drilling and operating wells throughout the upper Texas Gulf Coast region. His responsibilities involved over-seeing both administrative and the managing of field operations including lease acquisition,drilling,completion, and marketing of hydrocarbons. In late 1986, the company divested and sold its Texas producing oil and gas properties. Kittler went overseas to form a joint venture with the Republic of China (China National Oil Company) and selected clients in South Korea (Lucky Gold Star Corporation) seeking producing oil properties for their refinery feed stock sources.

Prior to forming Fossil Oil & Gas Management, LLC, Mr. Kittler held the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jurassic Companies, Inc. (“JCI”), a privately owned oil and gas operating company specializing in the acquisition of producing properties and generating drilling prospects in the upper Texas Gulf Coast Region for industry partners and non-industry accredited partners. After operating for ten years under Fossil Oil & Gas, LLC and Fossil Oil & Gas Management, LLC, Kittler formed Fossil Oil Company, LLC to drill the Muehr #2 well in the Cooley Field, Ft. Bend County, Texas. The Muehr #2 well’s field activities will be operated by Oblaen Resources, LLC and is scheduled to commence drilling operations in the 1st quarter, 2010 contingent upon rig availability.




Don Timco
Donald J. Timko
Petrophysics and Petroleum Engineer


Mr. Donald J. Timko has nearly 50 years experience in the petroleum industry. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, he was employed by Continental Oil Company (now ConocoPhillips) as a Research and Reservoir Petroleum Engineer. Some of his initial responsibilities involved drilling and evaluating wells in Conoco’s extensive operations in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. Prior to leaving Conoco in 1973, Mr. Timko was promoted as the head of Conoco’s Formation Evaluations Operations on a worldwide basis. Among his many responsibilities in this position, the most significant included....in-depth review and interpretation of Well Logs, Drill Stem, Sidewall Cores, Well Testing and Production Recommendations.

After resigning from Conoco, he formed and operated his own independent petrophysics consulting company, which continues to this day.

Over the years, Mr. Timko has been successfully associated as owner or co-owner of two domestic production companies, which have discovered and developed considerable oil and gas reserves along the upper Gulf Coast of Texas. He sold these interests in 1998, and now devotes full time as a petroleum consultant, specializing in petrophysics.

Mr. Timko has been a member of the faculty at the University of Houston, teaching graduate level courses in Hydrocarbon Formation Evaluation. He has over the years, taught similar Hydrocarbon Formation Evaluation courses in the USA, Canada, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

He is a past President of the International Petrophysical Society, which is the petroleum industries technical society in the field of Formation Evaluation.

Mr. Timko is recognized and acknowledged as an expert witness in formation evaluation and geology before the Texas Railroad Commission and the Louisiana Land Commission. Mr. Timko was selected as a “Distinguished Lecturer” for the Society of Petroleum Engineers of A.I.M.E. The lectures, given worldwide, emphasized techniques to define the commerciality of oil and gas reservoirs in high pressure/ high temperature geological environments. He has published many technical papers on this subject over the years, the most recent being in 2004 and 2008.

Presently, Mr. Timko has been Fossil Oil & Gas Management’s consulting Petroleum Engineer and Petrophysics Expert. He currently is a principal advisor to Fossil Oil, relative to Fossil’s Project to drill a 13,500’ deep Meek (Wilcox) gas/condensate Well called the Muehr #2 located in the Cooley Field, Fort Bend County, Texas during the 1st quarter, 2010.

Mr. Soliz has been the oil/gas attorney and legal advisor since 1981 to Fossil’s President, Dennis R. Kittler. Mr. Soliz is currently Fossil Oil & Gas Management, LLC’s corporate attorney and oil and gas legal expert. He also attends Fossil’s Executive Committee meetngs.
